Dr. Fathima Nadiyya Sinnen is a General Practitioner with extensive clinical experience across Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. She completed her MBBS from Tianjin Medical University, People’s Republic of China and subsequently completed her initial training at Base Hospital Marawila, Sri Lanka. Dr. Nadiyya began her medical career with the Sri Lanka Air Force as a Pre-Intern Medical Officer, followed by her role as a Post-Intern Medical Officer / Senior House Officer, serving across multiple Air Force hospitals. During this period, she worked in General Medicine, General Surgery, and Renal Medicine departments and undertook responsibilities in medical administration, procurement, and health policy formulation at Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters.
She later worked at Nawaloka Hospital Negombo, Sri Lanka, as a Medical Officer in the Emergency Treatment Unit and General Medicine. Dr. Nadiyya further expanded her international clinical exposure in the United Kingdom with the Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust, West Yorkshire, where she served as a Senior House Officer (FY3) in Acute Medicine, and provided on-call services across specialties and also actively involved in attending emergency crash calls. Dr. Nadiyya has strong expertise in the management of acute medical emergencies, chronic diseases such as Diabetes and Hypertension, renal conditions, infectious diseases, and emergency care, and is trained to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based medical care. She also holds a Certificate in Aviation Medicine from the Institute of Aerospace Medicine, Indian Air Force, India.
